Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich fights hunger at both ends of the age spectrum — helping seniors remain safely at home and ensuring young children have food when school meals are unavailable.
Food insecurity affects neighbors of all ages, including older adults who struggle with mobility or health challenges and families with young children who rely on school-based meal programs. Without reliable access to nutritious food, both seniors and children face risks that impact health, stability, and overall wellbeing. Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich exists to help close these gaps, ensuring that vulnerable members of the community have consistent access to the nourishment they need.
Each delivery protects independence, supports dignity, and provides the reliable human connection that allows neighbors to remain safely in their own homes.
Every weekday, Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich volunteers deliver nutritious meals to seniors and homebound individuals who cannot shop or cook for themselves.
Through our Preschool Weekend Meal Program, Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich sends nutritious shelf-stable food home with children each Friday so they have meals when school cafeterias are closed.

More than 10,800 Greenwich residents are age 65 or older — 22 percent of the community. Across the country, millions of older adults face food insecurity, social isolation, and difficulty meeting basic living needs, challenges that are increasingly present here at home.
Since 1960, Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich has met this need directly — delivering nutritious meals and dependable wellness check-ins to vulnerable neighbors, ensuring they remain nourished, connected, and able to live independently in their homes.

Great advances of medicine have extended our average life expectancy to a record high of 77.28 years. Living longer means more years spent in the struggles that accompany old age. Add to that the increase in geographic mobility of our families and the result is millions of home-bound individuals needing help with daily nutritious meals.
