More than 10,800 Greenwich, Connecticut residents are age 65 or older, representing 22 percent of the community. Nationally, millions of older adults struggle with food insecurity, social isolation, and the inability to meet basic living
expenses – challenges that are increasingly reflected at the local level. Since 1960, Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. of Greenwich has addressed these needs by delivering nutritious meals and regular wellness check-ins to vulnerable residents, helping them remain nourished, connected, and independent in their homes.

Great advances of medicine have extended our average life expectancy to a record high of 77.28 years. Living longer means more years spent in the struggles that accompany old age. Add to that the increase in geographic mobility of our families and the result is millions of home-bound individuals needing help with daily nutritious meals.
